GEOGRAPHICAL LOCATION MATTERS
The sources of contamination in a livestock building can be directly linked to :
- Proximity to other poultry farms or other species such as cattle, pigs or poultry, for example
- Proximity to roads with heavy traffic for the transport of live animals
- Presence of industrial waste treatment facilities such as sewage treatment plants or composting plants
It is useful to control the environment close to the tool to control the sanitary quality of the production building. The spreading of manure can generate biological risks.

ACCESS TO THE FARM MUST BE CONTROLLED AND MANAGED
Traffic must be physically separated. The application of vehicle decontamination procedures should be systematic.
The slaughter collection point should be as far away as possible from the livestock area to limit the crossing of flows with all livestock inputs.

MANAGEMENT OF FLOWS WITHIN THE BUILDING
Fencing separates the circulation area of the farm from the outside area where outside parties can operate (delivery of feed, gas, etc.).
The storage of straw is specific to the farm. This area is enclosed, protected from birds and rodents which could be a source of contamination for the animals.

THE HEALTH LOCK : THE ULTIMATE GATE TO THE FARM
A three-zone airlock is used to prevent the spread of pathogens in the farm. The first zone consists of removing shoes from outside the building and putting on shoes specific to the farm. For occasional entry, new single-use overshoes can be put on without ever returning to the previous area. The second zone covers the decontamination steps that should be carried out in a precise order :
- Washing hands with a hygienic solution, drying hands, then applying a hydro-alcoholic solution
- Dressing in a specific outfit for the farm, which includes a full-body suit and a hair cap
- When crossing over to the third zone, a second pair of shoes must be worn when entering the farm. For occasional visits, a second pair of overshoes may be placed over the first.

BIOSECURITY PROCEDURES
They should be available on site and placed in a specific binder. This includes
